Dr. Lourdes Pravina L N Vasagam

Introduction

For Dr. Pravina the desire to enter the field of medicine started at a young age. She attributes her interest in the field of Neurology to her Seniors during her college years who taught her the potential ways of helping patients. Dr. Pravina has a vast experience treating newborns and as old as age 80 years. One of her memorable experiences was seeing a 11 years young boy, showing a severe case of GBS that affected his limb and respiratory muscle resulting in his being placed under a ventilator. The patient after being over 1.5 months was weaned off the ventilator and able to walk on his own. Dr. Pravina is an avid reader and participates in publishing her research on the field. In her spare time Dr. Pravina indulges in cooking Italian food and learning to playing the piano. She converses in Tamil, Hindi, Marathi and ofcourse English. Her areas of expertise include: Stroke, Epilepsy, Neuro Immunology including GBS, Multiple Sclerosis and Muscle Diseases.
